Social Finance for the Settlement and Integration Sector in Canada
Market Assessment Report
This research identifies models that could be suited to achieve positive settlement and integration outcomes for migrants and migrant-serving organizations, and assesses the relevance of these models for the Canadian context. Based on an extensive literature review, a scan of Canadian and international social finance models, and twenty semi-structured key informant interviews, this research suggests a number of promising practices for social finance in the Canadian newcomer settlement and integration sector.
This project was commissioned by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and research was conducted by Purpose Capital and the Carleton Centre for Community Innovation. Interviews and an international scan of social finance models relevant for the settlement and integration sector were conducted in October 2015 to November 2015.
